Me, too Polly.... the quilt top is done!

But I'm heading to the post office (as soon as I put on "real" clothes) and ship it off to my wonderful long arm quilter in Minnesota. There are still a few points here and there that are less than perfect... but under the circumstances (and considering how many points there are in this quilt (which is 82" x 98")... a handful of less than perfect points works for me.

The wedding is March 14th... we'll see if I have it ready by then... (depends on my longarmer... and she knows this is due to her ASAP).

I hope it finishes lovely... The bride is a sweetheart.... who I've known since the day she was born. (She is one week to the day younger than Ryan) ... her mom and I went through our pregnancies together (our husbands are best friends and worked together at the time).

So just a a prelude to a happy dance! First project completed since September 2008 (when my arm problem started!)

Next project -- a baby quilt... but first to get my sewing room a wee bit (or a lot bit!) more organized! If you want to come help... I'll offer you some chocolate... and your pic of a half a dozen FQ's!

Oh my, yes. A baby quilt next. I even know the pattern I want to do. It's here somewhere. Isn't it? Polly

I'm sure you'll find it! How are things going getting everything back into its place? Well I hope!

My baby quilt is a remake using a pattern I used to make a quilt for new baby's big brother (who is about 18 months) - which was in blues and teals and had airplanes and clouds on it. This will be pinks and purples and blues and yellows... but instead of airplanes and clouds will have butterflies and flowers.

That way the two kiddo's quilts will "be the same... only different". You can see the other in my webshots album -- children's quilts - -Michael Lukas's quilt.

What do you have in mind for your baby quilt?

Oh, happy day! I found it. I want to make Unfolding Star - which comes from Waltzing Matilda in Judy Martin's book. It is pictured in QNM December

2003 on page 40. It has an octagon for a beginning and then partial seams. I think the quilt block will drive my quilting friends nuts trying to analyze it (big evil grin here). My Bernina books are missing. I don't know if they're off procreating with the income tax records or have joined the stack of recipes I'm going to try. One day. I spread the military quilt out smooth and flat on the living room floor. Yogi has quite thoroughly tested it and apparently has decided it is acceptable. My confidence would really suffer if I didn't have a QI. Polly

You all *must* post pictures of your baby quilts. I have some news that I'm not supposed to tell anyone. I need to see lots and lots of baby quilts, but I just can't tell you why. :-)
