Mettler Thread

May 07, 2007 5 Replies

I need some help. The area where I live has NO quilt shops that carry Mettler 60wt cotton thread. Does anyone have a good site for ordering on line? I started a table topper and have already gone through one small spool and need another. I really did not think this tiny project would take a whole spool but it has a lot of micro stippling. You would think I would know better by now to use an "only spool" for any project.

Any help would be appreciated. :-)

(under cotton thread) I haven't personally ordered from them but whenever someone asks about online shops that sell needles someone always posts this website.

-iirc, they carry quite a few brands.

I've never ordered from them online, and they are The Store We Love To Hate (TSWLTH), but I keep getting online coupons for Joann's and I'm sure they carry Mettler thread. Might be worth a peek at least. Someone might even have a coupon; I seem to have deleted all of mine.

It's hard to find. The only place I've found it successfully is Create For Less

I've moved over to two other threads that I really love and have found are even less linty than the Mettler 60 wt. Though they are labeled 50 wt they seem the same thickness as the mettler. They have been much easier to find on-line for me too.

Auriful 50 wt. and Superior brand MasterPiece 50 wt threads are what I use now for piecing. Red Rock Threads carries both...

Sew Thankful carries MasterPiece and also has the larger cones which are great (and the prices are better!).

Thanks Jeri, Dogmom, Patti and Marcella. I will try to trace down the different threads and sites to buy them. It is really a pain for this one color.

I really appreciate your input!! :-)
