Midget block series

Like I needed another project, but this one sucked me in...surely even I can keep up with one 4 1/2" block a week:

on Free stuff, then midget blocks. I'm afraid she's fooling us with the simple ones first, but so far so good, I've got the first two done.

Shame on you, Kim, for telling us about this site! I've been doing so well at resisting the Dear Janes, etc., but I've been getting more and more tempted, and this might just do it.

Are you going with a particular color scheme or is it going to be totally scrappy?

Oh wow! Thanks for posting this. Not that I need another project, but they sure are cute. 187 blocks though.....yikes!

I've got a basket of those ditzy little Aunt Grace style prints I thought I'd use with plain muslin for a backing. That way I can turn them into trim for an old fashioned apron if I don't get enough for a quilt. Seems in keeping with the original era too.

Thank you, Kim, for sharing! Added to my favorites. I think these would make a super sampler quilt.

Too cute!! Might not get to it til next summer though. 187 blocks? Gosh, all the blocks won't even be out by then. There are some other beautiful freebie there too. I wanted to Quilt Pink on September 30 -- there's a nice pink lap quilt.

Thanks, Kay Ahr in NV

Fun project! Relatively painless too. It's great having something to sew just for fun and sanity, with no pressure.

My sanity project during our last move was to start at the beginning of the Better Homes & Gardens 501 Blocks book. Made about 90 4.5" blocks out of the Scrap Basket. DH commented that he now understood my patchwork obsession: it gave me an illusion of being able to control something. Perceptive man! Anyhow, they are on the WIP shelf and occasionally get added to. Currently, setting 8 X 11 of these blocks would give me a baby-size quilt. I'm waiting for the odds to improve! Roberta in D
