A scrappy block swap invitation to all who visit here

I would like to invite anyone who wishes to join in to a friendly scrappy block swap. The few rules are simple.

  1. The swap is open until May 1, after that no new members.
  2. However many have joined (we are hoping to entice 16 - 20) will have to choose a 12" block, finished, 12 1/2" unfinished, you know the rules on block size, to make for each participant. So, if 16 join you will have to make 16 blocks.
  3. The blocks can be made with your scraps. We ask that you do not use obvious children's patterns. Each one will be probably different. Just make the colors look nice together.
  4. On May 1 everyone will submit a block #1 and block #2 idea to the list. First come first served. if 10 people want to do courthouse steps only the first one that got their entry in gets to do it, the other 9 have to choose something else. I suggest you all go to Quilters Cache to look through the
12" blocks to see what you like so I can post block pics in the photo section to keep everyone apprised of the picks. There will be a database questionaire you can fill out with your ick colors only, however please remember that other people have a way of putting together those colors in marvelous ways.
  1. Make sure all your blocks measure 12 1/2" unfinished so we can get them sewn into a quilt! 11 1/2 just won't do.
  2. You will have until September 1st to get your blocks done. That is 4 months! Please, no slackers. If you get started on them right away that should not be a problem. You can send them as you go or you can send them when you are all done. If you are done July 1st you can send them all out then.
  3. There will be a prize for the first one done. That is not an onus, that is in appreciation of your effort.
