I have questions

Is there a way to get this off of digest? You talk about pictures and I can't see them. Also, I know several on here know me, but what do I need to do to get the others to know me. I have never been on one of these before and really want to get to know everyone and them to know me.

Right now I need something to take my mind off of my husband being stranded in Michigan with no transportation. You see he is a truckdriver and we own the truck. Well Fri he had a 3 drops (deliveries) in Michigan and got the first drop off when the engine blew. Right now I am praying that they can find a way to put him into a 2007 truck. Sure would save us a lot of money, we have had to put money into this one from day one.

Hiya :-)

I don't get a digest adn wouldn't know how to get one (you probably get if from google) so I can't help with that.

however teh best way to get to know people is to post to the newsgroup and people will respond :-) also sending emails to people helps :-)

I hope the problem is solved soon! blown engines are not fun!

Does your ISP offer usenet? I read the group on Outlook Express accessing thru my ISP. If they don't, check out Individual.net. Hope your DH is back on the road soon.

Hi GrammyKathy I don't post often. Lost my news server for quite awhile and only had Google to post with - such a pain. Now that I have a newsserver again, posting is much easier but I'm too busy with other things to quilt, so don't often start threads of my own. Soon though, very soon! Pictures are not sent in the posts here. We send links to pictures that are either on our own websites or on free photo sites like WebShots. I love looking at all the links! We have some incredibly talented and creative people in this group. Keep posting and we will get to know you. You can email me also if you like. snipped-for-privacy@rangeroriginal.com I get so much spam now I'm not too worried about giving out email. It happens when you have a commercial web site. Well, back to painting baseboards... I've daudled long enough!

Sorry to hear about your husband, Kathy (may we call you Kathy?). It must be worrying, but it will surely turn out all right before too much longer. Try to add even a little snippet to threads that you feel you can join in with. It will take little while, but soon you will begin to recognise names and, if you post, we will recognise yours. It does take quite a while to be able to distinguish one from another. There are several of us, for instance, whose names derive from 'Patricia', but we all use our names slightly differently. You already have a namesake 'Kathy A'. By the end of the year you will probably feel like an old hand >g< As to pictures, I don't really understand 'digest'; but you have had a few suggestions about that - so I'll leave well alone (as I usually do with anything remotely technical >gIs there a way to get this off of digest? Sorry to hear hubby is stranded in my beautiful (although wet) state right now....

If ya tell me what area he's at, I may be (just may be, no guarentees) to suggest some things of interest to keep his mind occupied as well if he'll be here for a few days....

I know it sucks being without one's DH......

Tricia, where are you located in MI? I understand the 'wet' right now. We are saturated to the gills! I live in Waterford, north of Detroit. julia

I think she is up north... WAY up north (maybe even UP)

Nope, she isn't THAT far UpNorth. She is still downside of the Mackinac Bridge (separates the UP and the LP of MI)...about 60 miles south west of it as the crow flies.

Tricia, did you get to walk across the Bridge over Labor Day weekend? I did once(with 3 friends) and thoroughly enjoyed myself. DH's Mom walked it every year:)

Argh!! Blown truck engines are the pits. In order to help with the diget issue, I'd need to know how you're reading/posting. Google, OE, ????

I feel for you - DH used to drive truck, and there was nothing worse than knowing he was stranded somewhere. Thankfully it only happened once or twice, but that was enough. I hope they can find a way to get him back on the road soon (and that he's not too sick to drive).

You are in my mom's general vacinity and near my old stomping grounds (I graduated from Lakeland)

I'm up in Petoskey these days.....

Yes the leaves are turning, oddly we saw more that turned on our way downstate a week or so ago for my cousin's wedding than we have seen up here until like today (we keep discussing whether it is time to light the pilot in the furnace yet, it's getting that chilly) I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of color in a week to 10 days unless the weather and wind knocks them down first....

I don't recall what was going on during the holiday weekend this year but no, we didn't walk the bridge....our intent is to try and remember to plan for it for next year....we need to get into shape though a bit more (we've both been slacking since our physicals while I have waited to get a recommendation statement from my doctor about adjusting what I was doing in PE class).

To anyone who would like to figure out where Petoskey is without getting out a map.....put your left hand up, fingers together, so you are looking at the back of your hand. See where the tip of your ring finger meets with your middle finger? That's a good approximation of where Petoskey is...consider the tip of your middle finger the lower portion of the Big Mac and the tip of your pinkie to be near Traverse City. Detroit on the other hand (no pun intended) is just about at the bottom knuckle of the thumb. I love living in a state that can be represented by such an onnocuous (sp?) body part ;)

To keep this on topic: I did finish piecing my top to ma's table runner yesterday...some of my points match really well, some are off but wouldn't be noticed from a galloping horse *snicker*. Now, I'm reading the recommendations for batting thread to see what there is out there.....(oh, and feeling like an idiot, my boss pointed out to me that the pattern *DID* list how much to cut for binding this silly thing)
