Moved on to Plan B

Back on the 2nd of January, I showed you the next Wounded Warriors quilt I was making. Well. not exactly. The directions said to cut width of fabric into 6 1/2" strips to begin cutting the bases for the appliquéd stars. When my blocks wouldn't go together like the picture, I went back and read the next sentence. It says to cut the 6 1/2" strips into rectangles 6 1/2" by 9 1/2". Ooops. I had cut 6 1/2" squares. Not only that. I had quite firmly appliquéd all the stars. Lots of quilt patterns are labeled beginner, intermediate and advanced. I'm thinking a new category for the dippy may be needed. Here's the quilt I almost made

Polly, Love the pattern! Could you add a 2" strip of fabric to each side of your squares to make them 9 1/2"?

That's what I had to do. I missed having the basket weave effect but it's still a happy quilt. Polly

do we get to see pics of what you made??? i'm thinking "miss polly, she did something even nicer!"
