MQing YBR

I finished the top to my YBR (twin sized) in all shades of moss green- the magazines would call it a monochromatic quilt- how fancy! My question is how people have MQed these quilts. I am kind of thinking I would like to keep the lines straight, but not just strict SITD along the outside of the blocks- any ideas?? (what a silly thing to ask this group!)

I used a meander stitch using variegated thread to MQ one of my YBR. I really like the way it turned out. I think a diagonal grid would look nice, too.

I just saw a pretty one at the county fair. The maker had simply quilted horizontal lines across the quilt. Looked like 2-3 inches apart (the quilt was hanging from the ceiling, so it was rather far away to get a better estimate) I thought it looked nice and was a nice change from the eternal meander that seems to be overtaking machine quilting these days.

Since my YBR was really a DBR (Doggie Brick Road), I quilted in doggie words (bow-wow, yap, etc.), paw prints and dog bones on mine. Guess that's not much help on yours, though. ;)

I free motion MQ'd mine with flowers and leaves since it was mostly soft florals. I used a variegated thread on the top. since yours is green - how about leaves of different shapes and sizes?

I meandered most of my YBRs but decided to try something different by stitching along the seams, however because of the overall design of the quilt there was alot of stopping and starting points and I didn't like it so actually finished it off by doing complete vertical and horizontal lines right through the blocks. Although it seemed to break up the design I had no choice so I left it but think I'll continue to meander the other dozen or so YBRs that I have planned and of course already purchased the fabrics.

thanks- and thanks to all of you who sent responses to how you quilted your YBR. I kind of think I am going to do SITD between each block, and then do something inside. I really want to do a "meandering" SITD, following the block seams as well, but it may not be possible withou a little backtracking... but then, as has been said many times here, there are no Quilt police who can arrest me for doing it wrong.
