Mucking out, the final voyage

I'm with you. I need my sewing room to be orderly. I'm distracted by chaos. However, as you point out some very creative people have no problems at all with a sewing room that would drive me nuts. :-) My quilting space is in an open area between two bedrooms--kind of like a loft, except that the house is all on one floor. (Does that make sense?) Anyway, besides the fact that I work better in a tidy space, I like to have it somewhat neat for the occasional visitor who may walk through.

Ah, I should have read further. You just answered the question I posted a few minutes ago about what type of flooring you're getting. Sounds lovely, Polly. We just redid the floors in my sewing space last fall. Went from carpet to ceramic tile (which we installed ourselves). The tile is a big improvement over the carpet. Somehow threads always seem to imbed themselves in carpet and hide from the vacuum. Hmmphh! Not a problem with hard surface. I know your going to love your new super-duper vinyl.

No, Roberta. The only bribes I know how to do consist of stuff like banana nut bread. The bribe-ees don't go away. They just sit with fork in hand looking hopeful. Polly

"Roberta" You ask that question as one who has just merited the Good

We moved our computer out of the sewing room today. Quite a challenge. There's the computer itself, the printer, the monitor, 3 speakers and the scanner + the cute little thingie that talks to the wireless mouse and the submarine stack that talks to the cable. Gracious! Delighted to report that they all are hooked up right and all is well. (also somewhat astounded). Next step: empty the refrigerators and freezer to move them out. Found a few things that expired in 2007. Was really surprised at how clean they were when empty. The Yorkshire Terrier has begun to be a problem. He will Not allow refrigerator or freezer doors to stand open. Unacceptable. Everytime he walks by, he does his darndest to shove them closed. It's a British thing methinks. He wants things to be in proper order. Polly
