My answer to webshots

Since webshots has becoming annoying, I decided to use a free page building site in order to display my quilts. The site went together really easily (I'm sure there is much more that I could do with it, and expect it to evolve), but at least it works, and as far as I can tell, the ads are just what you would expect normally.

Here's the link to my site:

Please take a quick look for me and confirm the ads are not annoying like webshots. I don't want to put any more work into it if it's another PITA. ;-)

Thanks! Michelle in NV

Hi Michelle,

The ads not invasive at all. Your quilts are quite lovely and I would love to see more.

Well done.

I agree - the ads aren't at all a bother (I can easily ignore them). The quilts are terrific - of course, I'm particularly partial to Purpley Adorable!

Michelle, this has been a long hard day and my eyes are tired. That said, it seems to me that the pictures are not sharp and clear. Maybe I'll just put me to bed and look again tomorrow. Polly

Excellent! I really like the option to look at the quilts as a slide show. And I really like your quilts. Much, much better than Webshots.

Oh good, I'm so glad to hear the ads are not invasive. They didn't seem invasive on my computer, but it quickly became apparent in our webshots discussion that different computers picked up the ads differently.

Thanks so much for your kind words about my quilts. Believe me, when I have more to show, I definitely will. :-) I'm incredibly slow....

Michelle, it looks great to me. :) I didn't even notice the ads the first time around. LOL! I love the way it gives a choice of a slideshow or "manually" clicking through the photos.

So glad the ads aren't bothering your computer Louise. :-)

Ah yes, the Purpley Adorable quilt. And you sent me a purpley adorable block for it. :-) (Chipper actually named the quilt.) The quilt ended up going to a five year old cousin for her 6th birthday. She came with her family for Thanksgiving and we got out the blocks from swap and played with them. She coyly informed me that purple was her favorite color and that I could make that quilt for her. Who could resist that? Not me. :-)

Hmmm. I'll have to check on that Polly. I may need to re-take pictures of the ones that I am able to (still here with me). My old digital camera did seem to be taking some blurry pics, so I replaced it. Maybe the problem started before I was aware of it. Some of those pictures are pretty old.

Thanks! Michelle > Michelle, this has been a long hard day and my eyes are tired. That said,

Thanks for your kind comments, Sunny! I hadn't even considered that we'd be able to view the pictures as a slide show. Yes, that is also different from webshots.

Since everyone seems in agreement that the ads aren't too bad (unlike webshots), I do recommend it. I realize my pages are very simple, but it took me probably an hour to do this much. The site is very user friendly.

When you get your site up, please share! :-)

You really should Lyn. If I can do it, anybody can. ;-) You've probably already found the site, but here it is in case you need it:
