Need some help / Fabric wasn't prewashed

Susan (in South Carolina?): Your local super market probably has some useful laundry products in a special area. Look for Color Run and read the instructions. Decide if this is suitable for your problem. Also, look for (and BUY) the Shout Color Catcher sheets. Get into the habit of using one or two sheets in your dark/bright/questionable laundry loads. They are best used BEFORE the problem, but I've thrown them in while trying to solve problems too, with varying results. NAYY. Good Luck!

Hi all, Hope you can help with this I bought a wall hanging at a yard sale recently..it is allegedly new and i believe it to be the case. It has a white background with a burgundy sashing as the frame. a floral print and then the binding. Unfortunely the burgundy fabric was not prewashed . While attempting to remove a spot on the back it started to run.the color on the front.. anyways i originally bought this as a gift for DD and i am concerned that when she tries to wash it it will be ruined.. What can I use to set the color / or is it a lost cause.. Thank you all for any help.. Susan

Use those Color Catcher sheets to wash the item before gifting it.

Avoid Rit Dye Remover--it pulls dye out of everything and likely the burgundy would turn pink. Debra in VA See my quilts at
