Newbie needs help from NJ quilters

I love choc labs - they are usually big lumps of soft warm lovable dog. The ones I have known have all been sweethearts.

I can't help with the block problem but I am sure someone over there will come to the rescue.

I don't have any first hand knowledge of the block in question, but I'd be willing to try to help, if you could email me the instructions you have. Maybe I could figure out what's wonky about it. Worth a try, anyway. Welcome to the group!!

Welcome from a fellow NJ quilter!

Wow! Then we're only an hour apart! I live in Deptford. I drive past Paulsboro everyday on the way to the Commodore Barry to drive into PA to work in King of Prussia everyday.

How far are you from Cherry Hill? That's where my guild meets once a month. It is a great guild and if the commute wasn't too unbearable you'd be very welcome!!!

Your commute sounds very ugly. Once upon a time I commuted from Cherry Hill to KOP also. ICK!! Going from Deptford must really be brutal - especially over the Commodor Barry but I guess it beats the traffic going the alternate WW!

Melissa, Thanks so much for the invite. Unfortunately, Tuesday's are generally a very bad evening for me. Maybe a meet up some other time? If a Tuesday does become available, I'll be sure to be in touch in advance. And by way of update, I dropped my blocks off Sat. to the LQS (there was an alternate block as well as the Sister's Choice) and come to find out, there was a major typo in the instruction sheets that were initially given out! At least now I know I'm not a complete idiot! And, they will continue to collect blocks for the balance of the week so I should have a chance to get 1 or 2 done to donate to the cause!

Melissa, now that I know I can "audit" the guild before joining, I may just take you up on your invitation that you made to AuntK. I live in Lumberton and I think a "once per month" meeting is doable for me right now.

I may just see you there tomorrow night!

I hope you do come...but don't come tonight!!! The meeting is on the second Tuesday of every month. So join us at 7:30PM October 10th! You can't miss me...I'll be the one on stage during the general portion of the meeting, but long before that part of the meeting ask for President Melissa and I'll make sure you feel welcome and have lovely ladies to sit with. Also, bring hand sewing tools. It's a hands on night.

Turns out my travel plans for next week have been postponed, so it looks like I can attend next Tuesday after all! yippee!

WOOHOO! It's a hands on night so it will be fun too. Also, if you have it bring your first quilt (or a very early one) and a quilt you're working on now (or one special to you). In addition to hands on we're doing a meeting long show and tell!!! It should be great fun!
