OT: 45th high school class reunion

I've been gone for a few days from posting. This past weekend was my

45th high school reunion. Two days were spent digging through my closet trying to find something appropriate to wear that might camouflage a few years and several extra pounds. At 63, I definitely look like a grandma, which I am, but the memories of my classmates were of 18 year olds who were slim and youthful.

I found a pantsuit that wasn't too bad hiding in the dark recesses of the closet and that had to do. To my wonderful surprise, we all looked like grandparents, extra pounds and saggy skin but still full of laughter and memories. What fun! I rediscovered old friends and realized why I had liked them so much so long ago. They were still the great people I remembered, only older. It was the best time I've had in ages. Donna

Sounds wonderful! This August is our (DH and mine) 35th! Not sure we'll be able to attend tho. So happy that you had just a fun time.

Sounds like a wonderful time. My class hasn't had a reunion since its 16th (the

15th was just skipped!), but DH's class gets together faithfully every five years. Last year they celebrated their 50th, and I'm sure there will be one for the 55th. Was this the first one you had gone to?

So glad you had such a happy time, Donna. DH was blessed with a wonderful class and we cherish every opportunity to get together with them. There was one guy at the reunion in May who didn't need to iron his face but we were far too polite to notice. Polly

Yes, Louise, first one I've gone to in all that time! I took my old yearbook with me and went from one person to another trying to put a "new" face with an old one. Now I wonder why I left life get in the way from keeping in touch with these folks. I heard one other classmate say the same thing. Polly, you and your DH are were the smart ones to keep this circle of friends all these years. Thanks, gals, for the nice words. Donna
