OT a gift worth bragging about

I suppose most of you are far too young to notice that printed matter grows smaller every year and people have started mumbling and whispering. It can't be that our eyesight is getting dim and our hearing finally shows damage from assorted assaults. With that preamble - just let me brag about the super great gift I found for my dear husband. Most of his gifts he leaves in the boxes, stores them in a closet and eventually lets me find them a new home. "Doesn't need anything, doesn't want anything". The absolute worst kind of guy to discover a present for. Whoooo Boy! Did I ever hit the spot this year. ( I know this sounds like spam. It isn't. It's just a happy share.) I studied a long time and finally chose a Bright ID'er for him. It clips into the house telephone, is about 6" wide and about 2" tall. When the phone rings, it shows the name of the caller and the telephone number. You can read it way, way across the room. When the phone isn't ringing, it tells the date and time - also in Big. We didn't have to enroll at flight school over at the airbase to install it. Just simply plugged it in and 'thar she blows'. We got a bit silly calling ourselves from the cell phones just to watch it go. Anyone else have a great 'hit' that we need to write on our new calendars for next gift-shopping events? Polly

Polly, that sounds great - what is the name of it, I'd like to see if they are available in Australia.

I wasn't kidding, Di. My bright idea is actually named Bright ID'er. It surely has changed our attitude about the phone ringing. Instead of growling and grumbling, we like to watch it go. (Easy to entertain us old folks.) Polly

Not a gift idea but we have our phone, internet and TV all via a single provider. We have our caller id flash up on the TV. Much more better than trying to find glasses and look at a 1" x 1.5" screen on the phone to see which telemarketer is calling during dinner!

Thank Polly, I found it with your help. Not sure if they are available in Aust but judging by the price in the USA, I think I will still be answering the calls. Maybe one day.......
