OT - Accomodation in Glasgow

Thanks to those of you who helped me! Turns out I'm going to be lodging with the sister of one of my managers at work. Pauline had mentioned before that she had a sister in Glasgow, looking for a lodger, but at the time I thought it was too far from the city centre and I was investigating another place. So I'll have my own room with en suite bathroom and turret! That's right, it's in a 1860s castle which has been subdivided into 5 flats. My room will have a turret, and will most likely be freezing cold. Perhaps I should just start knitting a castle cozy now... The place is in Bardowie, across a loch from Bardowie Castle and there are only about 4 houses there, among some farms and fields. And Rangers' training ground just down the road. The next village is Milngavie (pronounced Muln-guy) and is about 3 miles away. I'm getting this mountain bike fixed up to be my commuter bike and I'll cycle in to the station and then take the train into the centre in the morning, reverse the process for the evening. I'll be in Glasgow Monday-Friday and then come home at the weekend to see Mat, Sasha and Yuri (QIs) and of course, work at Tesco. Wish me luck on the course! (Starts October 2nd).

That sounds so interesting. You'll have to take pictures of your castle for us.

I have a lot of family in Milngavie! Your accommodation sounds wonderful, and the views will make up for the colder weather, my aunt says that Glasgow is warm in comparison to other parts.....

Good luck

I know this isn't a nice thing to say, but be careful to lock both the bike wheels to the frame and whatever you're locking it to! I don't leave my bike at the station anymore in Chelmsford because of this!
