OT: Adobe Pagemaker help needed

I'm using Adobe Pagemaker to create a CD jacket for a friend's first solo music album. (Exciting stuff!) Pagemaker is working great, but I have one problem. When I put a picture into the template, it is blurry. I had this problem when I began working on the jacket 9 months ago (CD just got finished last week) and solved it, but I can't for the life of me remember how. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks! Michelle in NV

I don't use PageMaker anymore - I use Adobe's replacement, InDesign, but what you're seeing should just be the "preview."

Change your "Display Performance" to "high" ... I just can't remember for the life of me what menu item that should be under ...

Perhaps Edit> Preferences>Display?

HTH! If not, let me know, and I'll run into my studio and crank up my last version of PM! :)

I think I should have been a bit more specific ... by default, PM puts your preview at a lower resolution - that's supposedly to make it easier for your computer to use it's memory more efficiently. The higher res it displays your images at, the slower it will be (since it's usin' more memory to store the preview image and display it).

If it prints out looking low res, then it's something else. But really, I think it's just the preview settings.

Another option is your transparency flattening ... the actual resolution of your image, and any filters within PM you've applied. But I think it's usually the "easiest" solution - in this case, to either ignore it (since it will more than likely print out fine) or change the display to "high".

Please let me know how it works out ... if this isn't it, I should still be able to help you! I used to be a beta tester for Adobe, after all!! :)

Hugs!! Connie :)
