OK, guys and gals,
I have dome to the well of all stitching knowledge.
I have been trying to find a font that will go well with the Hinzeit NAVY chart, so that I could personalize it for DS's retirement on the
24th. I have not had any luck, the words are to long etc.So, to plan 2. I will embroider the Navy emblem, and put his name, rank and years of service below it. It is 79x79 stitches, and if I stitch like crazy, I can have it to the framer next Monday or Tuesday, and she will have it for me when we leave on the 21st.
This is a very old chart. It says to use 3 strands of DMC, and that makes sense to get the solid coverage.
My question to all you experts is that it calls for 2 strands of DMC280 Metallic Gold to do the outer rim.
Is that still available? What would you recommend instead? Hopefully it is something I can find at Joannes/Michaels or my LNS...or maybe I already have it!
Many thanks in advance for your help!!
Gillian
I *know* I should have thought about this earlier, but the original plans went askew a little.
