I am asking here, because I know some computer gurus hang out here.. and it seems this group can answer any question. I can receive emails in Russian because somewhere, at some point, I set my computer to allow Cyrillic characters. Well, now I want to receive emails from my Japanese friends, but their characters are coming through as gibberish. Where do I go to allow Japanese characters? Help!

What email reader are you using? If you are using outlook express 6 - go to tools menu, then options tab, then read tab, and at the bottom click on the fonts tab...and in the international settings untick the use default encoding for all incoming messages
