OT: But it's about every one of you.....

Yesterday I posted about some slug who stole money from me. Today I am posting about the love and remarkable outpouring from people on this board that has demonstrated that slugs are put in our path to remind us of the beauty in the rest of the world.

I have received a number of private emails from folks on this NG -- most of whom I haven't had any conversations other than postings before -- offering me loans or outright gifts of money. The offers have ranged from more than we lost to very small amounts. Doesn't matter (and for the record, I'm not needing money because it's all going to come home) -- they are all offers of the truest gift of all: friendship.

Who would think that a group of people with a similar interest would come together from all over the world and fall into fast friendship? I love it when we pray for one another. And when we cheer accomplishments and try to soothe the bad times.

I know I'm rambling, but I am beyond intelligent words. I'm crying my eyes out and it's all tears of joy. Thank you, my friends. You are good people. Regardless of your faith or non-faith or .... whatever, each of you is a gift from God and each of you shines with the Light. You have turned a mess and a trauma into a joyous gift.

Thank you, Sunny

Blanche DuBois. Streetcar Named Desire, Tennesse Williams. "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."

Scarlett's the one who swore before God that she would never be hungry again.

You know, people are often so much nicer than we realise! I remember once, some friends were renting their home whilst they were or a sabbatical abroard, they were having trouble with their tenants and wanted us to pray that they would collect enough money to not have to put the house on the market, it went right to the wire, it got to the point they were going to have to put it on the next month, at which point, we let them know that we could definitely help a little, loan or gift dependent on if the tenants ever coughed up and that we were sure other people would want to do similar. It didn't come to that in the end, but it would have been nuts for them to have to sell their house, which was only very modest, but very convenient for the job and church they would be returning to in a few months and with the way house prices were at that time would have been very difficult for them to purchase another. It definitely crossed my mind to offer you something, I'd rather pay your broadband bill for this month than have you get disconnected and I know how important it is to you.

Cheers Anne
