OT Car Warranty Scam

I received a card in the mail saying it was my final reminder regarding my automobile and to call a toll free number. I didn't recognize the company name so I did a search on google.

I found a news article from Sep 2002 saying this is a car warranty scam. The name of the company is Motor Vehicle Protection Corp. They are demanding your credit card number and want to charge 1500 dollars on it. BEWARE!!!!

The scam that makes me crazy is the one where the credit card companies send you "free" checks printed with your name and address on them. Hooooooboy! it looks like using them would be a disaster. I don't have a shredder. I just take them to the sink and soak them for a few hours in whatever is waiting for me there. When they are about to dissolve, I wad them in tight little soggy balls. Cheap, easy and it makes me feel all better. Polly

I have requested, numerous times, that they stop sending me those things. Now, I "fill them out" with nonsense words and send them back with my next payment. So far, I've received the same response I got to my requests.
