OT: DH Rescued a Kitten (long)!

Not if DD continues in the same vein she has been during our last few conversations! It's starting to sound more and more like she wants the kitty. She said the family has been discussing getting a kitty and here I have one available. Especially one who will grow up to be the kind that likes to sit on your lap. DD asked what Li'l Guy would be in Spanish and I said probably muchachito (little boy). She said that would be a bit difficult to say and I said to shorten it to Chito. Since She and Rachel and GrandMother LOVE Cheetos, this is likely to be Li'l Guys new name :-) . Cross your fingers that it works out that way because I *really* do not want another cat. I have given him free reign of the computer room and the guest bathroom and he is in hog heaven. He's spent half the day playing or eating or using the litter box. The other half has been spent laying on me or biting my fingers or trying to get between me and the phone. Basically just being an ordinary, healthy, kitten which pleases me greatly :-) . What's weird for me is that I had heard of this before. Last September, my son who's in grad school in Virginia, adopted a stray kitten. The kitten had been found by a fraternity brother (who is female, btw, as are many of the "brothers"!) and DS offered to take it because he had been wanting a pet. This kitten also had a wound on her neck and when DS took her to the vet, it turned out to be the very thing you are describing - a parasitic worm that had embedded itself in poor kitty's neck. The vet removed it and DS also had to use antiseptic on it for a while. The vet shaved the kitty's fur but it has now grown back. In fact, kitty (now known as Sadie) is on our back porch at the moment. We are cat-sitting while DS goes to a convention in Arizona next week.

Wow! I never heard of a Wolf Worm. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie. Glad everything else checked out okay on Lil Guy.

Ah, now Lil Guy had Momma Mary and Momma Cassie. Sounds like he is in good hands and paws!

I second the early neuter. We do it with all our cats, and they really never seem to learn to spray.
