OT Dog pack attacks gator in Texas

I got this in my email today. I just knew I had to show you all this shocking image, espeially Miz Polly. Now we can all see ample proof of just what very small dogs can do to a gator. Now Yogi can hold his head up with pride, secure in his prowess.

Dog Pack Attacks Aligator In East Texas...

***********************

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the "apex predator", can still fall victim to an implemented team work strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the pack mentality" bred into canines by nature.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine. Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.

I was disgusted, sickened, and horrified all at the same time......

Aw, c'mon ... would NightMist REALLY have posted something gory and gross??

Now, of course, she might want us to *think* she would ... but I don't think she really would have!! Of course, I might just be daring her at this point!! Or perhaps she'll say something to the effect that I don't know her nearly as well as I *think* I do.

I was actually expecting to see a quilt. She got me, too. But in a different way! :)

Yes.

But I would have given fair warning, not made cutsey comments about Yogi. (G)

Did I post to that picture of the aftermath of the python-alligator fight here? Or did I get it from here in the first place? The one where the python that had been released into the everglades tried to eat a gator and burst itself? All die, oh the embarassment!

Well you could make a quilt of it. Have to be applique or watercolor technique I think. Maybe a little needle painting to bring out the intense fluffiness of it all. Or wait you can get 100% cotton plush now. Use that for the high fluffy, velveteen for the low fluffy... It would be a very cute quilt.
