OT: DX for DH

is what my husband has. He's got medicine for it now --ironically it's another round of incredibly strong antibiotic, whichis what caused the danged thing in the first place. It started when hecracked a cap on a molar and then got a scary infection after thedentist took off the old cap and did some work on the tooth. After allthat, the poor guy has had two months of horrible stress at work, knowing that lay offs were coming. He's middle management. It was uglyand good people lost their job and next time it's probably us. Toomuch stress and antibiotic and below zero weather kept him from goingout for the long walks that keep him in good shape physically andemotionally.

Ok, that's all. They say he will feel better very soon and maybe be back at work Monday.

I try very hard not to whine and ask for support all the time. But let's face it, a girl's gotta whine to her friends or sometimes she'll just explode!

So thanks for being there for me and being so patient and loving.

I had this when I was pregnant. Although not the resistant strain. Wasn't pleasant especially when the dr told me diaherra is normal in pregnancy. I told him it wasn't, not like that. I should know it was my

5 child then. It was clock work. Food go >

It's really caused by incompetent hygiene in hospitals (or in your DH's case dental surgeries). The organism simply shouldn't be there for patients to catch.

It's been an increasing problem in British hospitals over the last few years; they've been drowning in filth ever since their cleaning services were privatized under Thatcher (a policy Blair, Brown and subsequent Scottish governments have continued with).

Watch the Scottish health bureaucracy squirm when confronted by someone who really, really knows what he's talking about:

That IS a nasty bug, Sunny. I hope the antibiotics do their work soon and your DH feels better. Keeping good thoughts coming--both on his health and work situation.

Thanks for all the sweet comments. My poor dear is fighting the good fight but recovery is slow. He's still in bed and doesn't think he will try to go to work on Monday. He's forcing himself to eat, which is a good thing. And I've got him on probiotics which I hope will help. I always feel better for taking them. He just got so weak and this is a miserable bug to get. Very rough on the body and apparently can easily be fatal in older folks and babies.
