We just felt an earthquake about 15 minutes ago. Preliminary reports are magnitude 6.9, centered around Mexicali, Mexico. It was a long rolling sensation here in Central Coast of California, and lasted almost a minute. Many aftershocks. Waiting for additional details.

My earthquake report for you Ginger. I was at dad's house in Mission Viejo. Lots of rolling. Took awhile for sis and drinking bro to decide it was an earthquake. I was outside by that point though. I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and called dd in the desert. Nope she didn't feel anything she tells me. Then she hollers oh sh*t here it comes. So now I have been told I can panic quicker than earthquakes travel. It was about 90 miles so it took a few minutes but I really am a quick panic-er. DS and sis in San Diego said it was really strong. I heard there was one fatality. Hopefully things will calm down. Taria, quickest hatch batten-downer in the west ; )
Sorry, did not check in sooner. Mail service connection was messed up so couldn't connect with you guys. I am safe a sound. I am about 90 miles from the Mexican Border, so I felt it. Was sitting on the computer, room started rolling. Had I been drinking, I would have thought I had too much to drink. Rolling earthquakes give me that sensation. It rolled and rolled for almost a minute here. Dog never gave any indication of anything beforehand. He was barking at a neighbor's grandkids who were running around behind the house.
Called Mom and Dad when it ended. Dad felt it. Mom was outside talking and when Dad told her I was on the phone checking on them, she thought I was nuts as she felt nothing and tried to convince us there was no earthquake-- guess she was wrong on that account.
No damage here or with the folks (they live 10 miles from me).
