Just takes my breath away, Sunny. Beautiful, beautiful. How in the world has so much been accomplished so quickly? Polly

Yes, Ginger, it has been a labor of sweat and love. And one that we will always cherish. Polly, it's happened so quickly because Russ worked hard. And on a few occasions he convinced our sons to also work hard. There is no deadline like the approach of fall, which quickly turns to winter, to spur completion of yard work. Not only that, but I think the physical work has been enormously therapeutic for him .... lots of stress these days. There's nothing like moving half a ton of expensive garden mix soil to make a man forget his woes, even if only temporarily. We've had a wonderful time picking plants and deciding where to put them. Such fun. Once the pain was unavoidable, we just decided to jump in and make it the best we could. And I'm pretty sure we've done a good job. Even with giving the new plants extra water to get them established, our water bill for the month of August/early September was about 40 percent lower than for the same month last year. We have chosen plants with an eye to low water use. It's working already. And next summer, two-thirds of our upper yard will need no water except during the hottest weeks. That is money in the pocket. Wheeeeeeee!

Your climate, atmosphere, scape are just so foreign to us. Water and sunshine are abundant here. However . . . wonder how your Russ would feel if he had to keep moving the gators out of the way so he could place a walkway? Polly

Sunny, everything looks wonderful but oh such work you all did! But now you have your own special secret garden....a place to go where you'll find silence and peace to talk to God.

Thank you for sharing.
