OT Grouply Don't use

hey Everyone

I've been reading, lately, in other quilting group sites, that anyone using "grouply" in their e-mail addy will not be permitted into the group or will be deleted from the groups without notice.

Apparently this "Grouply" is advertising that you can group all your memberships into their website. They want your ID's and passwords.

YOU CAN NOT UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS SITE.

BEWARE!!!!!

It's true, I got this warning on another group I belong to also. They are working on these security and other issues, but right now you can't use it.

I don't know what "grouply" is, but I'm just trying to post with that set as my userid. Am I getting through? (I can't see how it could afect a Usenet posting).

Here is the service in question:

Some Yahoo groups I am in are reporting that grouply addresses will be unsubscribed. It is not clear to me if these decisons are being made by the respective owners/moderators or Yahoo groups staff.

This is a Yahoo issue, not a Usenet issue. And yes, it is the group owners in Yahoo groups who are unsubscribing users with grouply addresses.

You CAN unsubscribe from Grouply. I did. Deleted my entire account. Tried it out with a couple of the groups that I hardly visit and will probably leave anyway. I even changed that Yahoo profile so Grouply would not appear as an alternate address. (I have a couple of Yahoo addresses and profiles.)
