OT - Grrr Can't get mail set up

Ok Computer techies I need help. DH got me a new computer for my birthday last month and I've been trying to get my mail and newreader set up. Well it seems that Microsoft decided that Outlook Express just wasn't good enough so they went with Microsoft Live Mail. Now I can't get my mail going or the news reader. I've done everything I know to do but it just won't go and now I'm having to post through google groups. Which I hate. If anyone knows of anything I can do please email me at snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com . Google groups is just too...well I can't think of the word... but it's just not for me. I've tried using Firefox and it won't work with my computer for some reason and there is another one I've tried, can't think of the name of it right now, and couldn't get it to work. So I'll be back as soon as I can get up and running again.

Love and Hugs, KimW

Mika -- I'm away from home -- but use Windows Mail for both email and newsgroups.

For newsgroups -- I use albasani.net.

Go to TOOLS -- Accounts -- and ADD a newsgroup account.

Work your way through the wizard inputting the appropriate information. When you get to the newsgroup server -- it is news.albasani.net

Read here about setting up the account. That should help you with the newsgroups. Your Internet Provider should be able to assist you with setting up the email accounts. Who is your provider?

Good luck -- don't let Windows Mail chase you away. It really isn't very different at all on the user level from Outlook Express.
