OT(?): I'm BACK!

OMG, I have tried and tried and tried and finally found a link that brought me back here. It's such a relief to be back. Whew.

I could see you guys yesterday but couldn't post. I want you all to know this has been traumatic. I need my RCTQ fix.

To catch you up, the garage sale didn't do too well. Not many folks showed up. Part of the problem was that we held it on the first glorious, river-addicting, pool-partying, street-rod-showing Saturday of summer. The temperature was 85 and the breeze was fine. Everybody in town headed for the river.

We did some business. I sold a bit. But, I put an ad on Craigslist and tomorrow I'm taking the rest of it to a group of ladies in a local nursing home who have pooled $50 and are buying all the rest. Let me tell you, for their $50 (way, way less than I intended to ask but then they sent me the sweetest email) they are getting a huge lot of great fabric and patterns and such.

Anyhow, several folk told us they were confused by the 'quitters' reference in the paper. Sigh. One old goat drove up, walked into the shade where we were sitting and said 'I don't want to buy anything, I just wanted to see what two quitters look like.' We told him (politely) to buy something or leave, preferably just leave. He did.

But it was sort of fun and the stuff is gone and I have room for a new round of fabric, LOL.

I'm working on a doll quilt for the Doll Quilt Swap 9 on flickr.com -- you can see the design work and the fabric I'm using here:

. AND, I have sort of acommission to make two doll quilts for a woman who owns a fabulousstore in our downtown who may want to put some in her shop. The quiltsare for her granddaughters -- 5-year-old twins -- and if she likesthose then .... maybe ...... Whew, that's my update. I'm dancing happy for a lot of you and praying for most of you and just darned glad to be back.

Hugs and loves all around, Sunny

LOL. My golly, Doc. You are such a hoot. Sunny, I am so glad your 'good stuff' is going to a sweet bunch of quilters at a nursing home. You can find great comfort in knowing that they will have heaps of joy investigating, fondling, planning and creating. Doesn't it just warm your heart to picture that? So happy you found your way back. We were most anxious for a quitters slashing update. Polly

Sunny, welcome back! We're glad you got rid of some stuff so you can get some new stuff. Always nice to clear out some of the accumulation isn't it?

What river are you near? Years ago when I lived in the high desert in California we went to the Colorado river and had some wonderful times. Some of my cousins still go out there on weekends during the summer, it's so relaxing and so much fun.

That old goat sounds like what my father would do, except he can't drive that far anymore. Unless he snuck out when we weren't looking....

Welcome back, Sunny! I love your idea of the nursing home recipients. I get all fuzzy just imagining the fun these ladies will have. My mom is in a nursing home and every little treat brings such joy to the residents there. Their craft room will be the center of attention when your stash shows up. You are so sweet to do this!
