OH MY!!! 29!!! how ever do you keep them all straight! I'd like to introduce you to our newest granddaughter, Nicole Suzanne.
Congratulations, Marilyn! Wow! *29* grandchildren! :O Are you making each one a quilt for Christmas? ;)
Congratulations. How wonderful. I hope you get to snuggle that sweet baby soon. Polly
Congrats Marilyn! I can't imagine 29 grandchildren, but I know every one of them is precious! Do Nicole and Elizabeth live nearby or are they one of the families that you have to travel to see?
Thanks Sandy Nope no quilts in the making just now. Just dreaming and planning. We are hoping to be starting on our new house as soon as the snow is gone. Between work, and building and trying to get this old house ready/keep it clean to sell, don't figure I'll actually do much quilting. But! I get the large upstairs bedroom to sew in (16 x 13) once we move. Hopefully I won't be living in a tent all next winter.

Thanks Polly We were at the hospital waiting for her arrival. Got to hold her at about 20 minutes old. She really is a beautiful, healthy baby!

Thanks Kate I think I'm already starting to slip on the keeping them straight department. Calling them by the wrong names, missing birthdays...... aaack! This one should be easy to remember her birthday as she was born on her great grandmother's 85th birthday!

OHHHHH, what a beautiful baby! I think when I pressed my nose against the monitor I could smell sweet baby. So tell me is there a catalog or something I don't know about that you can order these sweet bundles of grandbaby love.......I want a few, too *sigh*

Living with a house for sale is the PITS!!! I've moved 9 times in my 30 years of marriage... and the 20 years before that never stayed in the same house for more than 2 years (but back then packing up was my Mama's problem!)
In Minnesota, a girl friend and I were just on the verge of starting a House Staging business when my DH took the job in Michigan. She went on... and last I heard was doing well!!! It's amazing how many people just put a sign in the front yard, do minimal prep work and expect to be the highest price on the block. It's really important to shift your perspective when you decide to sell your home.
My best advise for selling a house... Rent a storage unit. Start packing things up and moving them all into the storage unit. Pare down furniture. Most people live with a LOT of furniture in each room.. making the rooms feel small. When you are trying to sell... you want to make your rooms feel as large as possible and often that means moving out a piece of furniture or two.
Do put pack away most of your little knick-knacks, collectibles and family photos. Think like a model home... a few tasteful accessories placed here and there is all you need. You don't want people who come to look at your home... taking their time there looking at your photos or other "stuff". Do invest in a few nice new throw pillows and bed pillows. It's amazing how often we get "used to" things that look well loved.
Walk through your house and take pictures (digital is fine). Then look at them with a critical eye. We see things in pictures that escape us when we just look around the room.
And as they say on all the decorating shows... neutralize as much as possible (that does NOT mean all white). But stick with soft tones like taupe and sage green. I can't tell you how many homes I went into with bedrooms painted black, or bright orange kitchens. As a buyer, my focus was on what it would take to "neutralize" it -- instead of the positives of the space.
I hope you don't mind my unsolicited advice. I'm not sure where you live -- but I know in this Michigan housing market.... sellers need to use EVERY tool in their arsenal to sell their home.
Good luck in selling your home... Hopefully you'll be under contract quickly -- so you can go back to actually LIVING in your house!
Oh, she is sooooo beautiful! and.. did you say grandchild number TWENTY-NINE? My two DGS's are plenty for me at the moment ;-)
Wow.. and congrats
What a beautiful little girl, congratulations to all!!!
29? WOW is all I can say, how much fun is that???Judie > I'd like to introduce you to our newest granddaughter, Nicole Suzanne.
Thanks Louise Nicole and Elizabeth do live fairly close. About a 45 minute drive. Unfortunately we won't get to see them often as they and their mom live with the maternal grandmother (DH's Ex) We are not welcome at that house and DD hates driving out in the country to see us. We try to pick up Elizabeth for trips to the zoo etc. We are just a little too far away to make picking her up and bringing her to our home for a few hours a workable solution. Mom will not let her stay overnight. I imagine things will be about the same with Nicole too. We will just have to see.
You're right, all 29 are precious and special. Each one very different from the others. I never thought that I would have this many little ones that call me Grama! Having them spread so far apart does make it difficult to spend time with them all.
