OT: last chemo round!

Well, I can almost see the light at the end of this tunnel....Thursday was the last chemo infusion. Yippee! ...I am throughly EXHAUSTED this time around, and sleeping and sleeping...but hopefully within the coming weeks my strength will return. I meet with the radiologist this coming Monday (they don't waste any time) to get the radiation treatements on the books..they should start in three weeks....and then I have an appointment on Tuesday with a Lymphedema therapist, to deal with the swelling in my right arm, which, thankfully with the exercises my surgeon gave me, has gone down some.

To get back on topic I did finish a small table runner last week, and used the 'birthing' method for the first time (mainly because I was too tired and my chemo-brain couldn't attempt to deal with trying to attaching a binding to it....). It came out rather slick and now graces my dining room table. I'm now working on a matching runner for the sideboard.

You guys are just the best...thanks for the good vibes and comments.

I'm not posting online here much lately - there's just not much to say, just plugging on with my treatment plan - radiation starts on Monday!

Thank GOODNESS for my sewing/quilting and vintage sewing machine hobby, even though I have been too tired to do what I used to at least I always have a couple of machines set up, so I can sew something, piece, or repair a seam....even if it's only for 10 minutes a day.

A few of you asked to see the little table runner I managed to finish over the last few months, here 'tis:

Funny thing about this is, it's pure coincidence that it matchs the candle centerpiece! I'll probably always refer to it as my 'chemo runner!'

Til next time, blessings to you all.

That's beautiful, Irene. The candles look like they were purchased to go with the runner.

So glad you can keep your SMs set up and ready to sew when you feel up to it. Yep, you will need something to help keep your mind busy when your body feels up to it. Barbara in SC

All the very best for Monday, Irene. You're being a real Trojan about all this. The runner is lovely - and the coincidence with the candles is amazing - a superb 'happenstance'. They're often the best. . In message , IMS writes

Glad to see you pop in Irene! Your "chemo" runner is stunning--and accidental or not, it does match the candle centerpiece beautifully!
