OT - My mother is dying in the PNW, and I am not well enough to fly out to see her...

My mum is dying 8 time zones away. I haven't seen her in 27 years.....my

5 older siblings (3 sisters and 2 brothers) are there at the hospital with her. I feel so far away from them all. My mother wasn't perfect and my childhood wasn't ideal, but she is still my mother, and helped make me who I am today. It hurts so much to lose her.

I am so sorry you are not able to go be with your mom and older siblings. Maybe you can call your best friend who lives closest to you and spend time with her. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Barbara in SC, USA, also far away from Scotland

Thinking of you and how hard it must be for you to be unable to see her. You're in my heart.

So sorry to hear this, Jo. If you can just hang on to a few Good memories, and just keep remembering those in these difficult days, it might help you. As it is completely impossible for you to get there, you will have to focus on being with her in spirit. You Can do this: call upon all your inner strength; take a few minutes each hour of your awake time (you will be awake when the PNW is sleeping) and simply be With her. Sorry you are not too well. Take care - this will take a lot out of you; and you must look after you, for you, T. and M.
