OT - "new" cancer facts from Johns Hopkins

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ( TRY THE KEY WORD) AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

Cancer Update from John Hopkins

  1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard Tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just mea ns the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

  1. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime

  2. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented
From multiplying and forming tumors.
  1. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These Could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
  2. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
  3. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
  4. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
  5. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
9 When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
  1. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
  2. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro- intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

C. Cancer cells thri ve in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at Temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

E. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.Green tea is a better alternative and has ca ncer-fighting properties. Water- best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

  1. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

  1. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

  2. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor- ssence,Essiac, anti-oxid ants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

  1. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spiri t. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

  2. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Oh yeah? I don't suppose you would care to give us a verifiable source from JHU for all that?

(Or more to the point - bugger off, spammer).

Excuse me, but Musicmaker is no spammer. She has been posting to RCTQ for a long time and many know her personally.

I don't think MusicMaker (whom I've seen in this NG regularly) was attempting to spread urban legends or SPAM. It's sad that you think so ... seeing as how she's a regular and has always been kind and helpful - far from the stereotypical SPAMmer.

We've had so much tragedy here in this NG in the form of loved ones being diagnosed, or under treatment for, or passing away from cancer ... isn't it possible that she was .... um ... trying to help?? Kind of seems like something she would do, yannow?

Jack seldom posts anything of interest. He has a very negative attitude so I seldom read his argumentative posts. I sure hope our dear Musicmaker can ignore his ugly post. We ALL love her. Jack is another story.....

Ah ... well, TBH, I came really close to getting snippy in that post, and now I wish I'd had gone with it. But I didn't since I've not been here long and don't want to trod on anyone's toes. I've seen several groups that love their cranky members that others hate. :)

I do seem to remember JC posting a snotty answer to another poster's request for help on a computer issue - which was ironic since JC begged for help on another issue merely days afterward.

Is Jack male or female (seeing as how some post under their hubby's accounts)? Or an "it?" Or does anyone even know? ;)

But yes, I whole-heartedly agree!! MusicMaker is a Keeper!! A sweetie and a considerate person!!

Hugs!! Connie :)

But did she post that article, or was it yet another fake by one of the trolls trying a new tack?

(Not a name I recognized - I've been reading and posting to the group sporadically for something like ten years, but can go for weeks or months without looking at it. At the moment we're doing more quilting than in a while so I'm looking at it more).

The article was the sort of urban legend that can lead to people dying from lack of proper medical attention. No point in being polite about it. Whoever posted it was lying, and lies like that can kill.

Ummm ... you could always check the headers, yannow. :)

Not a name you recognize? That's the best you can do in apology for insulting someone?

Perhaps you should pay attention more? Mayhap give others the benefit of the doubt - which I'm sure you enjoy being given? Or how about waiting to see if regs who post here often (and manage to remember other regular posters' names) call the poster a troll??

I'm sure it's possible that "lies" like that can kill ... but there's a big difference between posting something that's false in an attempt to help others and posting just to be a jerk or hurt someone.

On any other day I'd not be so .... b&tchy ... but it dawned on me that you didn't apologize to MusicMaker for hurting her feelings or for accusing her of trollery. You didn't even leave an opening for being "wrong." Must be nice to be so perfect. :)

And yes, I do realize that this is usenet, so you don't *have* to apologize ... but if you're calling yourself a member of this group, it sort of demands a bit of civility and humanity, wouldn't you think? Otherwise, what's to stop you from fitting the classification of "troll?"

I would very much like to read the actual article/press release/ publication issued by Johns Hopkins. Can you provide a cite?

According to snopes there isn't, they suggest looking at

though there is no single concise article along these lines, for that kind of thing, look out for the kind of magazine you find in waiting rooms, I just so happened to be looking at one yesterday, I can't remember which mag it was, but it did have a lot in common with this one, but it did give where the information came from. Quite a few things in this spam are along the right lines, there is strong evidence than increasing raw fruit and veg intake decreases cancer for example. I was very tempted to sneak the mag out, as it was such a good article and I stupidly forgot to look which magazine it was and which issue.

Hard to tell with postings via google, but the headers match the most recent genuine posting from musicmaker.

Sometimes medical information in particular makes people so hopeful that they don't think to check it out. We have all probably done it at least once in our lives.

General information to help determine trolls: You can get full headers out of google by first clicking "more options", and then clicking "show original". Very useful for comparisons.

I think this is probably a troll, and Musicmaker. She would not write in all caps. This thing has been around for a few years, and it is making the rounds again. It is not true.

When I find a good article like that I ask the doctor's office staff to photocopy the article. I've never been turned down.... I even do it if I find a good recipe in their magazine. They'd rather copy it for you than have you 'borrow' the magazine or tear out something.

The headers say that it's from our dear MusicMaker. Whether or not it's an urban legend or an outright pile of poo, I'm taking it as it was intended ... and *knowing* our dear, dear, MusicMaker, it was intended kindly. For as long as I've been here - beyond that, as long as I've lurked here (quite a while before I posted) - she's been a sweet, kind soul who'd not mislead anyone to save her own life.

Chances are, she just got it in her e-mailbox and she was just being the sweet, concerned woman she is, and just forwarded or copied the text and posted it.

My two cents - spend them as you will.

hugs!! Connie :)

I think the recent trolls are causing everyone to be a tad grouchy... I read more than I post, and I can say that both people (Jack and Musicmaker) are regular posters, and it does know one good to be upset at either. A post is a post, leave it that, and leave those nasty trolls to some where else, cause they have accomplished what they set out to do as evidenced by t his thread :( Tis the season to be jolly not so grouchy.... I love to read this newsgroup, it brings me happiness when things are not so happy and courage when I read the posts of sadness and trials. And then there is the quilting (and chocolate :) which is of course the bestest part. :)

good idea, I'd never thought of that, this time it was at a massage therapist, so I don't know if they'd be likely to have a copier, they'd have a lot less paperwork than a doctors office.
