OT - Please donate blood and save a life!

Actually the ban is on anyone who has lived anyplace in Europe, due to 'mad cow' concerns. This is a problem here in Virginia's Tidewater area because we have a huge population of active, former, and retired military personnel and family members. Many of us have resided over there at one time or another and are now ineligible to donate blood or derivatives, including yours truly. Pat in Virginia

I wish I could donate as well but can't. I am AB negative and they would love my blood BUT I had transfusions in 1990 and that ended the donate thing for me in a hurry. I had my second C-section and apparently had lost way too much blood BUT they didn't tell me I had gotten blood until 2 years later when I went in for my third C-section baby. I was a tad put out when I found that out.

It is good to hear you are doing good now and congrats on the little addition to the family :)
