OT: question about applesauce

Kate, this friend lost a lot of weight on WW. Actually she has lost weight on lots of diets but I wonder if she ever really learned how to eat properly. I can't help but wonder how folks go from diet to diet to diet and in the long run continue to gain after every go round. A diet seems to set folks up for failure. The ww way is more of a change of lifestyle. That for the long haul seems the way to go.

I have been lucky with weight most of my life. I have a lot of nervous energy that seems to burn lots of calories. Taria

Me, too! Until about 5 years ago, I weighed within 10 pounds of what I weighed most of my adult life. Even after I quit smoking almost 7 years ago, I didn't gain a pound for at least a year.

Then it started creeping up. Then I hit 50 and gained about 30 pounds, well it seemed like overnight, but it could have been longer. I blame sweat pants and working from home. No need to get into dress clothes for the office any more.

I've slowly gotten rid of most of it. My waist will never be the same again, I don't care how much I lose.

I need more stress in my life, I don't eat when I'm busy or upset. After a lifetime of burning off everything I eat because I was like a buzzsaw, I am now more mellow and laid back. Not much bothers me. Of course, I didn't have the patience to quilt in my previous life.
