I, too, had the same apprehension of buying one because I didn't think I would use it enough to justify the price. But, then it went on sale at an incredible price and I splurged. I, bought one die to go with it and it was the jelly frame. Then for the next couple of weeks, I used my weekly 40% off (sometimes it was 50%) coupon and bought a few more dies like the scallop tags that have 3 sizes, traditional tag, then the rectangular frame and then the small photo corners die. I don't have any of the shapes like flower, or baby items, or stuff like that. I buy the dies that I could use in many layouts. And using the die cut machine for those items are a lot more handy than using a stencil or freehand because of the accuracy and the quickness. To make up some of the cost, I also made several frames and tags and some frame/tag sets and sold them on eBay. I plan to do that with the script letters also. It won't cover the complete cost, but it'll make up for some of it, especially if you use paper you bought in like the paper stack and it was on sale (LOL). Hope this helps.
