Hi everyone! I'm more of a lurker (since May) than a poster, but I was so excited about some of my Christmas gifts I had to share! I got a Sizzix machine (as my subject says) and the Lollipop uppercase alphabet! I also got a sizzix rose die. I haven't played with them yet but I plan to this weekend. I'm so excited! Boy is that thing heavy! I had asked for the Sidekick but my aunt thought it looked "dorky" so I got the full sized version. Trust me I'm not complaining! Now I thought I saw someone on here post that the Sizzix's are being discontinued? Is that true? I didn't see anything about that on the Sizzix website. I wonder why they're doing that. Also I believe you can use the Sizzlits with the Sizzix, is that true? I like alot of the Sizzlit alphabets but don't know much about using them on the other machine. I know you need a converter though. Anyway, I just had to share my excitement! I also got some of those scissors that cut patterened edges and a "tacklebox" to keep all my brads and eyelets in. Fun scrapbooking stuff!
I got a Sizzix!

Well i for one have NOT heard of them going out of business or being discontinued. On sizzix's site every Tuesday they have a sale on certain items. On
formatting link
they have a 25% off sale on the site till Jan
1st. I get all my sizzix and sizzlits at jkcrafts. You can use the sizzlits on the sizzix machine. You will need a converter. the converter is a magnetized attachment to the machine itsself. Before i got the sidekick I did all my sizzlits in the big machine. I am missing a piece from the zippemate machine... don't know what piece it is but Dave does, and he'll tell me later. Any more questions i will be glad to answer or someone else that sees it will...
Kathy, How wonderful! I just got my sizzix this past Spring. I still can't believe I got one (because they are so expensive). Yes you can use the sizzlit cutters and yes you need a converter. I think the converter is only about $10-$12. Find that Michael's ad!
I saw the post too about Sizzix being discontinued. RJ, have you heard back from you forum post? I'm praying they don't. I'm just now getting around to buying the die shapes.
Kathy, I hope you share with us what you create. It is suppose to thunderstorm today. I'm thinking it might be a good day to scrap!!
Enjoy!!

They are "listening" but so far everyone is pretty sure its happening because one lady said there were some dies she couldn't order from sizzix anymore... and she is a distributor... they are pushing sizzlets and apparently accucut wants rights to all the sizzix dies.... I figure it will all come out eventually. Everyone is getting away from the manual type cutters and going digital. Expect to see the wishblade come down to about
350 and a few competitors machines show up, like the cricket and a few other brands. Personally I'm all for it... imagine being able to type something out in word and voila! It cuts it out for you... something the size of a printer, or smaller...Any shape, any size.. .just makes sense...
Hey Ronni, I am sorry that my research was accurate on them discontinuing the sizzix but I am Quite Ecstatic about going digital!! I will patiently wait to see the competition of the Wishblade!! Woo Hoo I can't wait!! ~:o) God Bless, Dorothy in NY
Maybe that's why here lately the Sizzix dies and the sizzlet letter sets have been on sale for a big sale price. I know Michael's has all of their Sizzix products on sale 50% off this week.
YEAH!!! Have fun playing with your new toy!!!
Hi Kathy, I am happy for you and your new Sizzix! I love mine, and I am hoping they dont discontinue them (keeping fingers crossed) If they do, at least the dies will be getting phased out of stores and we can probably buy them cheaper!!
**Try> Hi everyone!Woohoo Kathy! I really like the Sizzix. Apparently they really are doing away with the Sizzix machine. But I'm pretty sure the prices on the dies will be dropping as stores try to get rid of their inventory. (Good for us! LOL) I'll still use my Sizzix, though.
I'm so glad you mentioned this Jennifer! I went to Michael's and picked up a few dies that I've had my eye on for a while.....am debating on going back for a few more.....ENABLER!!!!!!
Kathy, sounds like you have an awesome Aunt! Have fun with your new toys! TFS :)

That DOES sound wonderful! I'm glad I held out on buying a die cutter. I was considering it seriously a few months ago, but could not get myself to spend that much money - especially since it's imported here, which I'm sure makes it even more expensive.

I stocked up! I bought 3 large dies, 2 medium, and 4 small dies plus the storage system. My total was less than $70!
