I have seen the sidekick and was shown how it is used..... Well it is small but I wouldn't necessarily say it fits in your palm, more like both palms. It has a suction cup on the bottom so that you can suction it to your table, it has an arm that you push backward to suction it and then pull forward to unsuction it. You place the sizziz die and your paper between these two plastic plates and roll them through the machine. The die cut comes out perfect. I was told that it works better than the sizzix converter because it is intended to punch out perfectly the first time, whereas with the converter sometimes you have to punch more than once (the only time i have problems like that with my converter is when I use more than one sheet of paper). She also said that as far as Quick Kutz, there will be blue plastic plates available that are thicker that will be for using QK with the machine and that they will cut out perfectly...no more need for triple shims in the regular machine! There are also new sizzlit borders out and I asked about those and she said that she wasn't sure but she would think that they would have to make another set of plastic plates for those as well so that you can use them in the Sidekick. When I just saw the machine I thought it looked like a junky piece of plastic, but when I picked it up it had some weight to it, not too heavy but heavy enough.
So there you have it....if you are only going to use sizzlits then I say go for it... if not then really consider it because it is an extra expense (although I have no idea what it will be in the States, I think she said it was going to sell for $70 Canadian). It would be a lot easy to take to crops than the regular machine, but I never drag mine with me anyway and really don't know anyone that does (although I have seen it happen once hehe and I was amazed).
