Sidekick & top 5 Sizzlits poll

Hi folks,

Finally got around to looking at the information you all provided on the = Sidekick and favourite Sizzlit Dies question :o)=20

The original question was to see how many owned the Sidekick and whether = they liked it or not!

10 people responded saying that they owned/or had owned a Sidekick 6 people liked/loved it 1 new owner not convinced/ now likes it (moi LOL) 1 new purchase and likes so far 1 newly purchased and wasn't too sure whether they liked it or not 1 had returned it to the store

Positives: Small, lightweight, portable, easier for people with manual dexterity = problems to manage. Can be used with shims for other slim dies and = embossing folders. Dies are also small and lightweight - better for = storing than the larger Sizzix dies.

Negatives: One person found it frustrating, fiddly and time consuming. Acrylic = cutting pads wear easily, and have been reported to crack or break. Unit = must be adhered to a flat surface or suction pad isn't that effective.

Top 5 favourite Sizzlits (includes Sizzix & Converter users) Could only list top 3 - all others had one vote only!

1) Script Alpha (3 votes) 2) Doodle Baby Set (3 votes) 3) Doodle Christmas Set (2 votes)

All others had one vote as follows:

Alphas: Boxed Brush Funky Brush Playground Bounce Graffiti Girls are Weird Shadow Lollipop

Sets: Doodle Flowers Doodle Bugs Doodle Stars Jorli Tags Jorli Camping

Thanks you to all who participated!

I would like to say that since I use mine almost everyday cause I do = sizzlits and quickutz in it....one of the acrylic plates finally cracked = and after a few more uses it broke. It was well worn from cutting. My = husband took it to the local glass shop and got 3 more sets and another = strip waiting to be cut for just $2 of plexi glass material. I started = on my second set. Might be a different material cause after a few uses = of the plexi-glass it cracked and broke the plexi glass. Started on = another piece and so far so good!!!. Beats $2.99 a set of plates from = sizzix.

April or whoever,

Next time instead of getting a glass company or plastic company make new pieces of plexiglass, get lEXAN. It is like plexi but more durable and only costs a little more.

Do not miss thew one I had nor the experiencew with the first one nt holding up to its advertisemnet claims.

ACCUCUTS all the way!!

Okay, I must put my 2 cents worth in here.....Yes, I know that the poll = is over......

I broke down and bought a Sidekick last week when Michael's had them on = sale. I have really thought long and hard about this but decided to = bite the bullet and go ahead.

I love it! it's so portable. I took it over to my DM house so she = could use some of my tag sizzlets. It was really nice not to have to = lug the big sizzix over. =20 I am sold, though do wonder if the only place to buy replacement pads is = their website. Though I may try April's trick of using plexi glass, = can't hurt to try......

Well as the new buy as yet undecided I finally decided I didnt like it. It was way too fiddly to operate easily, so I sold it to my sister. Then my friend who had 2 sizzix (dont ask me why!) decided she would swap one of them for one of my handmade fringed bracelets.

Out of all of them I still like my QK best. I know they take some muscle power but I like the verstility of being able to position your paper in it so I find I waste less paper when I cut with it. I like the dies better too. I got the sizzix because of some of the dies available like the tags and the people are in different sizes that you will never get with the QK.

Oh and the sizzix makes a really good weight for holding things down when I glue them

:-)
