...and now I've got a QC too!

As you all know last weekend I got a Sidekick and alphabet. Well this weekend I got a Quickutz too! There was an ad on another group I frequent offering it at a ridiculously low price if it was collected. It turned out it was only half an hour away so I went and collected it on Saturday. Of course I arranged to meet the lady at the not so LSS so I could go and buy just one (honest) die after to try it out on.

Well the 1 die turned into 2, a goosebump, a Xyron 150 and a sizzix embossing folder. When I got home I went online and ordered the bottle top set and another goosebump inline from the US (cos even with postage its loads cheaper).

I totally love the QK in fact at the moment I am wishing I hadnt got the sidekick and had spent the money on more dies for the QK instead, especially when one of my plates broke at the weekend!

Ally,

My plates broke on first use of the Sidekick too. I contacted Sizzix.com and was told that there had been a faulty batch of acrylic cutting pads. They forwarded my email to the European Division and I had my replacements within 48 hours. I have pasted the info below...you should email them asap.

I don't have the sidekick or the QK. I just have the original sizzix. I've been happy with that. I just hate lugging it around. You will love the xyron 150. It is my most favorite thing in scrapbooking.

Is that just the big Xyron? I saw one on TV and it was really cool, but the only one I've actually seen in use is the little one that looks like an X. I know I want one, but don't know which one I'd get the most use out of. Does everyone get all sizes or will one do?

I have the 510 and the x, and I've used ONE refill in my 510 and about

25 in the x! The X is pretty much all you'll need.. if you need something laminated, walmart has xyron laminating sheets (no machine needed)

I love all 3 of mine! I have the "x-box", 500 as well as the 900.... I use all of them about the same amount. Depends on what I'm working on. If I'm scrappin' I use the x-box alot. However if I'm doing cards it's the 500. When I work on altering composition books, large or small, making calander albums (my current project for Christmas '05) I use my 900. I think it really depends on what you are wanting to adhesive....

Quickutz I have had my handtool for over 2 years and hated it!!!! As I have found out with The Handtool, Your hand will eventually start hurting. I tried to do a Title and other things with mine and after about 10x it actually hurt. I also found with the dies that they dont always cut all the way thru.I have just sold mine on ebay because I have been ab le to use the dies in all my other machunes. I also have a zipemate which I absolutely love, the sidekick, and sizzix machine, and the zaz. I an a big diecutting machine fanatic. The Quickutz dies will work in Sizzix machine if you use 3 cutting pads, the sidekick if you use shins, the zipemate comes with the cutting pad for them and the zaz was made basically for them. If you want something lightweight then I would go with the ZAZ because it is lighter than the handtool and easier to use!!!!
