What *supplies* did you buy today?

Thought this would be a fun thread adapted from one of my fave ng's, alt.fashion. Especially since shopping is a fun part of scrabooking ;)

What supplies did you buy today?

I just ordered from

:

*Quickutz Star uppercase alphabet *QK 1 1/8" mosaic tile *QK 1 7/16" mosaic tile *QK large folk star *QK die binder

Free shipping for orders over $150. I was close, and would have spent the same $$ on shipping instead of dies, so I went ahead and ordered a couple of dies and got the free shipping ;)

I am in a no spending group so I am trying not to spend. Not sure how much longer I can last. We do have a $40 allowance for the month, so far I am still at $0.

The things I'm thinking about getting next are a 12.5 X 12.5 self healing mat, a set of chalk pencils, and some foam tape.

I bought some paper I have been needing to complete a couple lo's and I FINALLY found crystal laquer at the LSS. Can't wait to try it. I wanted this a long time ago, could't find it anywhere locally, tried to order online and they were out of stock and looked for it in the US during out summer vacation with no luck. Hope I love it . . .

For anyone who has used it, any suggestions?

I figure that after going to Expo this weekend, I'd better not be thinking about buying anything else for a while. I didn't get anything big...just lots of small stuff but the $$ adds up quick. I had planned for it though, so I'm good for now.

What I bought this weekend:

4-6 brass stencils 12X12 paper 12X12 mesh sheets lots of fibres 6 stamp pads 4 rubber stamps 1 bottle "Stickle" 1 EZ2Cut tag template since I can't hand cut worth a flip 6-8 die cuts (trees) 1 scrapbook t-shirt 3 pkgs irradescent embellishments 2 pkgs white chicken chili mix (at Scrapbook Expo) 2 pkgs cajun seasoning (at Scrapbook Expo) 1 strap for my CIS PSB 1 shoulder pad for my CIS PSB strap 2 12X12 page storage boxes 1 pkg vellum tags (ask me why I bought these when I just bought a template and could have cut them myself) 4 pkgs push thrus 1 bottle metal glue and although I'm not the one that bought it...I get a cutterpede! This is a gift from my friend Shelley that went to Expo with me.

That's all I can remember for now! S

I didn't buy any supplies today. Spent my time cleaning my horse saddles and bridles. I am glad to see that you got to order your letters. I hope you will be as happy as I am with your QuicKutz. Connie K

I didn't mean to buy supplies. But honestly, it just happened.

I bought

  • Scrapbook Sally paper carrier, if you haven't seen these, they are larger than the Paper Taker, I think I've got about 500 sheets in so far (yikes)! I use my carriers for storage as well.
  • new blades for my Cozulle
  • Hermafix glue dots (on sale)
  • Xyron eraser
  • Photo conditioning kit

I so wanted to buy the Quickutz Shadow kit, but decided that was best for Christmas (if I can wait :) )

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of Making Memories metal embellishments. They were a 1/3 off. I bought most of the for presents though. It will be so hard not to keep them for myself.

Tamie,

Do you have a link for the Scrapbook Sally paper carrier so I could see if this is anything what I am looking for?

I bought Sophisticated Finishes in copper surfacer, Chemtek Aluminum Finish, Chemtek Purple Patina and Burgundy Patina, and a Premo Stamplets kit at Memory Depot (my LSS). Everything was 20% off to celebrate their 4th Anniversary. Then I bought a Sculpy flexible mold and Creative Paperclay at Michael's with a 50% off coupon for the paperclay. They were having a 40% off sale on all open stock rubber stamps, so I bought a Rubber Stampede Salidago Sprig that I had been pining for. I got home and discovered that I had already bought it during their LAST 40% off sales and had forgotten about it!! Obviously I hadn't even used it yet, after wanting it SO desperately. Hmmmm. I know there's a lesson in there somewhere.... Dianne in Austin

I used to read that NG about 5-7 years ago! I loved it. The people there are so interesting and neat. It introduced me to all kinds of cool stuff and techniques. Being a mom, working full time, and full time college student, I don't have time for fashion. I mostly wear jeans and cute shirts. I am lucky to get a dab of lipstick on in the morning. I do stay away from sweats though so that is a point in my favor. Maybe one day I will get back. :-P Jacqui

Very cool ng, isn't it? It is different now, many posters have left, but there are still probably some names there that you would recognize. Some things stay the same. Lemming attacks, in particular.

Definitly a point in your favor ;)

Anytime. Funny, how you start reading that group again and you have the overwhelming urge to shop!
