BeadFest attendees, what did you buy???

I went as a spur of the moment thing. It rained the whole trip up there. It rained the whole trip down. It was AWESOME, though! Got to hang out with hub all day, spent lots of money, and met some pretty nifty groovy folks!

Let's see... I bought glass, restocked on mandrels, and picked up a bunch of tools (needed and not) at Arrow Springs. Got silver at Beadniks, clasps at StarsClasps, PMC tools and supplies at Whole Lotta Whimsy. I even got one of those firing cones for PMC... if it works just as well as the kiln, I won't have to mess with the cumbersome thing anymore!

Um, let's see... I replenished some of my favorite frits and picked up a couple of new ones at Val Cox's booth (what a sweetie!). Got all the "need it" presses (as in "got it, got it, need it, got it") from CattWalk (Catt and Fred, another two sweethearts!), and Bronwen Heilman's book, which she signed - pretty cool! (sweetie #4).

Didn't get much as far as beads go... just a GORGEOUS boro vessel from Lori Robbins (sweetie #5 - totally adorable!), a bunch of pottery beads (I'm in love!!), and last, but certainly not least - one of Bronwen's painted faces beads for Rick (for driving us up there and for being such an awesome bead-show-shopping buddy [he helped me pick out stuff and carried all my bags... he even carried my purse on occasion!]) :)

Fran, That's an awesome list of purchases! I was only at BF for a few hours, and bought mostly gemstone beads for designing jewelry to sell. Bought some huge teardrops of fossilized jasper, a shiny tan color with inclusions of coral fossils, so neat. Also some large Turquoise teardrops for a special order, some white jade rondelles with "help" as the dealer put it, they have some pink/white blochy spots which I thought were interesting. Also some carved rose quartz small rectangles. I bought a lampwork bead from Dancing Rabbit, in purple/turquoise which matches other beads I have of hers. From Lauri Copeland (Wildfire Designs), I bought two Bali convertible bracelets, the kind you can interchange with lampwork beads. From Mavis Smith I bought a Hallowe'en cat lampwork bead. I spent a lot of time hanging out with Mavis, Debby Weaver at the ISGB table, Nolly Gelsinger, Suzanne Hye and Jeri Warhaftig. It was a lot of fun, I wish I'd been able to stay longer, but I had work to do for the show I did on Saturday and Sunday. Next year I'm not scheduling any work for Bead Fest weekend! Patti

Yours sounds like a pretty good loot, too!! Did you just LOVE spreading it all out on the kitchen table (or wherever) and just fondling it, and staring at it, and fondling it s'more? :)
