Just curious about die cut machines

Just wondering:

Do you have a cricut?

If yes, what cartridge do you have?

Which, of the ones you have is your favorite?

Which one are your dying to get?

If you don't have one, do you want one or are you getting a different machine?

Do you have a different diecutting electronic machine?

Or you prefer staying with your sizzix, bosskut, etc?

Looking forward to reading your answers!

If you don't have one, do you want one or are you getting a different machine? I'm not sure yet. I'm not dieing to have an electronic die cut machine right now.

Do you have a different diecutting electronic machine? Nope.

Or you prefer staying with your sizzix, bosskut, etc? Right now, I'd rather stay with my Sizzix, but I've seen the Big Shot (?) and like it and the dies I've seen for it. It's the one Ellison came out with. The Big Shot, right? I can't keep them all straight! LOL

Just wondering:

I ordered the Quickutz Silhouette and am waiting to get it hopefully next week.

I am going to keep my Sizzix for a little while but am probably going to look at getting rid of the sidekick. I never did get into using it.

I just bought a cricut on Thursday. I have the George font that came with the machine. I'm waiting for the Disney font to come out in March. I'm not sure which other ones I want yet.

I don't use a Cricut or a Sizzix. I use my printer and scissors. :o)

Sorry to reply to myself, but the kind of cutting machine I would buy I don't think exists. It would be able to cut AND print. It would have a USB cord and hook up directly to my Mac. It would come with software that works just like Adobe Illustrator, except that you could select any paths and designate them as cutting paths, while everything else would just print. For those of you who don't do digital design, trust me this would be awesome. Oh, it would also have to cost under $200. :o)

Yes

George and Basic Shapes, Animal Kingdom, Jasmine, Base Camp, Christmas Cheer, Doodlecharms, Monograms and Tear Drop (most were bought when AC Moore was letting you use the 40% off coupon)

Doodlecharms because I like the turkey

None really, I haven't seen any more that caught my fancy.

I am thinking about getting that new quickutz one you told us about.

No

I love my sizzix sidekick and I would have a hard time parting with my collection.

I don't know. DH offered to buy me one for Christmas but I said no because they're very expensive for what you get... If papercrafting was my business I'd have one like a shot but as it is I can't justify spending five hundred dollars on a toy...

No. That new one MC told us about sounds fantastic... I'm pretty sure I'll get that one when it's available here because it doesn't involve extra expense for cartridges/templates etc.

I don't have one of them either... I'd like a Big Shot, but again they're not cheap.

The silhouette takes true fonts. I'm not quite positive yet that it also takes images. I know Quickuts sells download for it.

You might want to consider joining your local quickutz club at your LSS if they have one. My favorite LSS which is a 40 min drive away has a club and after the initial fee, you get one free die a month (it's always one they are just releasing) and 30% all quickutz products. That includes the the machines, even the silhouette! So I've put my name in for one and I've got an almost sale on the cricut we've been using. It does mean having to have the laptop to hook it up to, but I think overall it will be less expensive.

Hi, I'm new on here - Just a few days of reading, but I have to talk about the Cricut...

I have had one for about 4 months now. I absolutely love it... I do so much stuff with it... I have 9 cartridges now, hoping for new ones every day!!

My most used cartridges are George and Basic Shapes and Doodlecharms.

I also have a Quikutz - About 2 years old - Loved that little gadget too, but haven't looked at it since I got the Cricut... I actually want to sell my Quikutz. Anybody looking?

It says it uses truetype fonts... It's a shame that it doesn't use clipart (I've got a huge library of the stuff) but there are a bunch of truetype fonts out there that have pictures instead of letters and I'd assume that you could cut them... I had a Japanese one that was gorgeous.

I got mine today!!! It's still in its box though! Got to get to it... Don't forget to check out your LSS for a Quickutz club. I got my silhouette at 30% off and the downloads are also

30% off. For the $50 a year it costs me, it really is worth it since I also get 12 dies at no additional cost!

Ohhhh I am so jealous! I originally ordered from quickutz directly but it was taking so long. Then I saw that scrapbook express had it for free shipping and no tax, so I ordered it. I should get it tomorrow. Jacqui
