Die Cut Machines

HELLO, I AM NEW TO THE GROUP, NO I AM NOT YELLING, SORRY FOR THE CAPITAL LETTERS I AM DISABLED AND IT IS EASIER TO TYPE THIS WAY.

I HAVE BEEN CHECKING OUT WHICH DIE CUT MACHINE TO SAVE MY PENNIES FOR! I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR POSTS AND SINCE THEY ARE DATED BACK IN FEBRUARY, I WONDERED IF ANY OF YOU HAD CHANGED YOUR MIND AND IF YOU COULD ONLY PICK ONE (SINCE IM ON A LIMITED INCOME) WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE.

I HAVE HEARD THAT VARIOUS MACHINES WILL TAKE ANY DIES FROM OTHER MAKES/ MODELS.

MY MIL WORKED IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM AND SHE USED THE ELISON, BOY WHAT I WOULD GIVE TO HAVE THAT OLD MACHINE!

IVE EVEN HEARD THAT YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN DIE'S?

I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT.

Hi.

Welcome to our little piece of cyberspace. We have a FAQ section on

which also gives you more info about us.

Depending on your disability I recommend two.

I recommend the sizzix system if you are able to slide and push down on a machine. It is more budget friendly lately and you can use the discount coupons on most of the dies associated with the machine.

However if your disability makes it hard to push down HARD on a machine then I recommend (which I love and had to give up a lot of DIET COKE*) is the circut machine. All you have to do is but in the cartridge slide a few dials and push a couple of buttons and you have your die cuts. It is really pricey but I have to admit I am using it a lot more than I ever did the sizzix machine.

(*I'm addicted to Diet coke so to give up a can or bottle a day was hard but worth the machine.)

Welcome again.

Kate (in NYC)

Please always remember that although the sizzix machine is cheap it is worth it if you want cuts from other things then cardstock or paper. Sizzix can cut felt, foam, linolium, chipboard, and other thicker stuff!.

I recently just bought a simple Sizzlit Sidekick machine. It's very easy to use. I found it on sale at Creative Express online and some of the Sizzlit dies. I bought 4 alphabets from them for the price of one normally. I also bought 2 more alphabets and the tote bags from Costco.com for a reasonable price too. I'm all set up now. All I really like diecut machines for is the ease of creating really nice titles and such.

I too just purchased a Sidekick and I love it because it doesn't take up a lot of room. It is simple to use and should not be a problem for you. Good luck choosing :)
