Has anyone used the CRICUT die-cut machine???

I am considering purchasing the CRICUT computer/die-cut machine. But I wanted to get a sense from others as to whether its worth it or not.

Any input would be helpful!

I have it and I really like it although none of the new cartridges are all that appealing to me. If I had to do it all over again I would probably go with the wishblade so I could use the fonts and shapes on my pc.

I have had my Cricut for about a month now and love it. I own 6 cartridges and have fun with all of them. I also go to a message board on the cricut website..they have tons of info there.

I know Michael's is demonstrating the Cricut this weekend. If I'm up to it I may head over to see it.

I tried mine out last night, and I love it. I was able to figure it out in no time, and me and a girlfriend had a real blast.

I can highly recommend it after > I am considering purchasing the CRICUT computer/die-cut machine. But I

It's ok! I think they could of designed it much better though!

The cutting mat is either too sticky @ 1st then after using it not sticky enough & the paper would move.

If you cut out a bunch of things since you wouldn't want to waste paper space, or maybe keep the negative & also the positive pieces for another design.

Do you keep all these pieces organized after taking them off the sticky mat?

I have a few mats since they don't last long!

I thought about using Wacky Tac to make them sticky again!

Another idea make a mini scrapbook brag book recyling the plastic mat!

I can't believe they couldn't design it better for normal 12 X 12 papers! Yeah well @ least all you have to do is cut them in half to fit if you don't like some designs of there papers made to fit the cutting mat!

It's annoying when there's enough space on the page to cut out a shape but yet the darn thing says "it won't fit" then try to change the size to even the smallest still says the same thing! Turn off the machine & turn it back on amazing the shape fits!

The other problem is the screen print out would say it's cutting but it wasn't!

There's a few bugs they need to work out!

There should be a Create your own cartridge so you can be able to use any font style you like, not just stuck w/all the ones they sell!

the normal size scrapbook paper! Also trying to make the bigger size

My friend ordered it from QVC because they give you the extra Doodle cartridge & I'm making her baby announcement cards for her since she won't have much time when the lil one arrives in January!

I have my brother's GERBER SCIENTIFIC SIGN machine which I can use very similar to this but it has to be hooked up to a PC to use! I can make my own designs then cut them out using the vinyl which has a sticky back.

Of course this is a much more professional sign machine which cost $2,000 a few years ago!

The way the sign machine works is it only cuts out the sticky layer of the vinyl leaving the backing on attached to the sheet, no cutting mat needed!

I just need time & space to finish my scrapbooking craft room & make room for it then learn how to use it!

I took some of the vinyl scraps & used my paper shaper punchers & he saw this & said to me you can program the computer to cut out a sheet of those "stickers" for you!

I have the vinyl in just about every color he made signs with!

UPS brown ~ looks just like the brown on those trucks!

BARBIE pink

some of them are reflective like they use on police cars.

He made a bunch of the flags for September 11th for the Fireman. It had a fireman silhoutte w/an ax & the flag. He donated them to the local Fire houses & they sold them for a fundraiser. Some had magnets & others needed to be squeeged on a window.

He died in 2002 so now he is in Heaven w/my Dad & all the 9/11 victims but I still see his flag magnets/decals on cars they still look new to this day. They haven't faded like some of the others people have on there cars.

It's a great rememberence of his work when I'm picking up DH from work & there's a car in front of me who has this decal.

As soon as I learn how to make them I will keep his memory alive trying to have a few in each state!

I was soo mad @ myself because they had a NASCAR race car @ Home Depot which I took pics of a few years ago & if I had a decal or magnet w/me this would of been great since my brother liked racing too! Having one on a race car going round the track in many states.

HAPPY HOLLYDAYS!

I too got one under the Christmas tree and got to test it out a little that night and want to get back to it this week, just be careful about your blade settings, I had it set too deep and cut my mat up a bit. Apparently Joann's had a hot run on tool kits so had to run to Walmart tonight to pick that up $18.88. Also anyone looking for cartridges I was looking at

and they have them for $49.99 which is the cheapest I have seen them so far. If anyone knows of a cheaper place please let me know.

Congratulations to you too, for receiving one for Christmas. Looks like several of our members were definitely on Santa's 'good little children' list this year. Sandy
