Is Cricut Worth The $$$$?

I am just wondering everyone's opinion of the Cricut machine. I have been cutting dies at my LSS and am thinking of getting one in the New Year. Do you think it is worth the $$, or is there anything out there that would be just as good?

Cheers,

Kim

I haven't heard many reviews on it yet. I keep meaning to ask myself. It's on my wish list for Christmas. I saw a demo at Michaels, and it looked pretty easy to use. Sorry I can't help more.

I don't have one, myself, but I think there may be a couple here who do. Anyone have a Cricut and can share the pros/cons?

I will answer my own question...because I bought one last night. LOL. I paid 199.99 at Michael's......and definitely worth it. it is soooo much fun. Still not sure I could justify the original price of 299.99 though.

I think they look very intriguing but this is why I won't get one. First of all, I like to go to my lss to crop quite frequently. It would be a pain to travel with it. Also, it's a piece of electronic equipment. There's just too much room for something to breakdown. Too much room for error. The other night at my midnighter crop a woman came with her Wishblade. It took up

*way* too much space on the crop table and after using it a couple of times, it broke down. She spent at least an hour trying to get it up and running again and couldn't. I felt the way I do before, but this kind of clinched it for me. With the handmade die machines (QK, Sizzix) it's kind of hard to really break something . Another thing is as with most other electronic equipment, I'd be afraid it would be obsolete in a short time. I think they look really neat, but I'll wait a few years to see what other types of machines to come out and how the technology changes. I guess I'm "old school", lol!

OOH Jenn, I could not have said it better. Yes it is nice to have the latest and greatest, but now since i found this Big Shot and how it works so much easier than everything else I have tried, I will stay old school now for a while too. Besides, with the price of the elctronic goodies, lookie at how much paper, ok and OTHER STUFF I can buy!!

Speaking of the Wishblade I found one last night on ebay for 50. Something obviously wrong with it!!
