OT - safe, but iced in

We never lost power on Tuesday, or since, but part of town lost power for about six hours. We got a half inch of ice, and then 8 inches of snow. The snow is not a problem, it can be moved out of the way, but that ice...... wow. It is so cold that none of it is melting. We aren't even getting any mail delivered, because the mail carriers are not doing any walking routes. Just the boxes out by roads. Some of the city streets, and almost all of the country roads are a slick sheet of ice. Musicmaker has been iced in since Monday. I've been out, but only because my sweetie took me out last night for a Valentine dinner at Cracker Barrel. And this was after it has taken him hours to drive to work and back and shovel snow all week. What a guy. Anyway, we are safe, just a bit stranded from socializing.

What a man! Now that is a dinner I would truly appreciate!

Stay safe and warm over there. We will be baking in 100F plus temps today and most of the weekend too. Still no rain.

I can only imagine how hot it is for you Cheryl.

We are currently at 36o C ( about 98 F) which is really hot for us on the coast. The next couple of days look like getting hotter than that.

you aussies are as mad as those northerners who stay in places where they get snow 10ft high. i just dont get it i guess. oh well. cheers from across the ditch in lovely sunny 22C, light breeze, a few light clouds. except for the fact we dont get snow at sea level in auckland, its much like camelot here. :) jeanne

Just wait Jeanne its coming.. This is a real exception for us and believe it or not we still have clouds and a breeze. I bet the beaches here are packed now and will only get worse when school is out in about 5 mins.

Dee in Oz probably further south than you Jeanne

Here in Central FL on Friday night the temp went down to 29 here at the house. Was frost on the cars and we covered the outside plants. Hey Jeanne, when can you pick me up at the airport? Barbara in Central FL Land of the Killer Tornadoes
