First I need to thank everyone who suggested foods to try to get Scraps to eat and drink. The refrigerator is filled with little containers covered with foil. The food Scraps loved the most was the rotisserie chicken. Alas, she didn't eat enough and then, she stopped eating altogether.
My sweet husband and I took her to the vets for the last time tonight. We had been in touch with the vet all week and finally decided that there was nothing else we could do except save her from the pending suffering she would surely experience in the coming days. We went to the vets today with the highest hopes that there was still something we could do for her. But, the doctor said with all the tests we could put her through, the outcome would most likely not be good. We would know what was causing her distress but most likely, it would not be something that we could resolve. Knowing that, we did not want to put her through all the tests that it would take to get to that point. So we needed to make the ultimate decision once again. This was 9 months to the day we needed to help Paisley cross the bridge. It didn't hurt any less. We held her until she was gone. She looked at us as if to say "it's ok, it will be alright now". At least now we know she won't suffer anymore. She was such a sweet, sweet little critter and she will be missed.
Your kindness and support in her regards will never be forgotten.
