OT SM TABLE

I visited my LQS (60 plus miles away) today to pick up an open toe walking foot, and while there looked at their tables. The brand is Horn, and Wow! are they fab. There is an airlift touch release to raise and lower the SM from it's well, and there is lots of room on top so fabric will slide easily over it. Anyone out there own one of these, and do you recommend it? My table/ironing board/card table rig just doesn't cut it anymore. Nancycog in MD

I can't remember the name of my SM table, but when I ordered it, it took them over 6 months (promised in 3-4 weeks) to get it to me. They offered one excuse after the other. My DH said you will never see it! I had charged it on my CC so "no worries". When it finally showed up I was doing a happy dance. The 2 best things about it is the electric lift and second the fact that they NEVER charged my CC. I wish I would have ordered some more goodies for it! I have the cutting table that will fold up and out, and the ironing table.

Nancy, do check out where you sit relative to the needle of the machine. I have found that some of the tables center the machine but not the needle to the seated position............. it can make a big difference. But I agree, some of the commercially available tables are great looking. However, I am thinking that if (when) I replace what I currently have, I will make alterations to a table like those that KCK did. (Photos and how tos on his website........ ) Problably a lot less expensive, which is more money for fabric and books and thread and................ Pati, in Phx

Nancy, I wouldn't consider this OT.

If I order my Horn sewing machine table, I'll have to remember to put on my CC, too. Maybe I'll have the same luck! 8^) Nancycog in MD

Thanks, Pati, for the suggestion. I just checked the brochure and it states it has 'in-front-of-needle sewing", but I will sit at the table and check before ordering. Still presenting all pros and cons to DH. 8^) Nancycog in MD

Well LN, I didn't see you begging for a SM table lately, so thought it was OT! 8^) Nancycog in MD

I do not have one, but sold them for a while. I would gladly kill for one. The only drawback I could see was the price. When I get rich...

I think Horn also makes Koala tables, of which I have one. And I love it.
