OT So far, So'K

Well mom had surgery today. Apparently they found a tumor in her colon and went in after it. They cleaned that site up and think they got it all, but in the process they found some spots on her liver that they deem suspicious. After she recovers from surgery she is going to have to travel to Denver for chemo for that.

My thoughts are so with you. Been there done that!

Remeber to get tested yourself!!! I know a colonoscopy is not a pleasure, but the alternative is so much worse.

Claudia (just remembered I'm due for a check up soon)

Back around 1997, my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer. The tumor was so large that they couldn't get it at first - it was wrapped around her spine. After about a year of radiation and then chemo, it had basically disappeared and they took out the remnants. I remember at the time that they also told her she had "spots on her liver" which was upsetting and seemed ominous. The spots turned out to be nothing.

Thirteen years later, my mom is going to be 89 next month and, aside from macular degeneration, lives on her own and is getting around pretty well.

So chin up!
