OT - Struggling with Outlook

My wonderful DH decided that our computer needed a complete "cut and polish" ie reformat everything. Not such a bad idea but he has loaded Outlook 2007 as our new email client (versus Outlook Express which I love). I used to be able to use OE to read the newsgroup messages in their entir....entiri....fullness :)

Now with Outlook 2007 they are downloaded through something called an RSS feed which only gives me a paragraph of a persons post and then says "click here to view in your web browser". All well and good but doing this for each post is a bit nasty. Also it only shows that post not the ones leading up to it.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah - and he's away this week and next (think he's only home for Friday night). Guess I needs to find me a new computer guru.......

Hi Sharon,

If you are using Windows XP you will still be able to use Outlook Express. I use both OE and Outlook - OE purely for newsgroups and Outlook for all other 'net stuff.

If you click on Start, Outlook Express should be in the startup list. You will need to put in your account details from your internet provider as you did before. Give it ago and get back to me if you have any hassles.

Sharon,

I love Outlook 2007, but didn't at first. To read the newsgroups click on "NEWS" at the top of the screen and it should open Outlook Express which gives the Newsgroup messages in full.

I feel your pain. My new laptop came with Outlook 2007 as well as "Windows Mail" which I think is very much like if not a renamed version of Outlook Express which I believe is being phased out. I use Outlook for my mail but still use the Windows Mail for my newsgroup. I like the format of it and the ease of use. Until I find something better, this works for me.
