OT - update on Musicmaker

They made it to San Antonio without running out of gas, in other words, the gas stations had gas when they needed it. But there were no motel room, they had to drive straight through. And it took two hours to get breakfast Saturday morning. But they arrived safely and are about the business of decided what to do with a whole house of possessions.

That is very good idea. Especially since so many victims are now in Texas. I imagine many have nothing to return to and will stay where ever they've been evacuated to.

Please give her a hug from me next time you speak with her. The process of going thru a loved ones belongings is never an easy one, but it can help with healing. Even now I can pick up a piece of fabric my mom had in her stash and be flooded with memorys of her. Diana

I have a short list and my students all "compete" to get on this mythical list.

When I die my executor (a total non-sewing friend! - there are such people) has only to ring those on the list and whisper "she's dead" and I have assured her that by the time she reaches my house (200km away) she won't be faced with sorting out ANYTHING in the sewing room. They will come in trucks, in trailers, with wheelbarrows, in vans . . . . . whatever! The palce will be stripped bare in minutes!!!! rofl

As my stash is ENORMOUS - Competition to get on the list is fierce!! And the books and tools are often "divided up" in fun at our sit'n'sews. lol

In reality I have made provision for everything to go to appropriate "retirement homes" to be used for gift quilts and teaching. If you guys were closer you would all be getting portions!

What a shame for both of you. Darn. I wouldnt be much help, not being much of a long distance driver myself. If I were to come to Australia then how would I travel from point A to point B? How are hitchhikers with large duffle bags full of purloined stash treated? Diana

Always welcome - i have a friend in Melb who accompanies her gold prospecting DH out here as far as my place every time he "gets the itch". She just has a nice day here and waits for him to come back all dirty and tired!

Those with purloined stash are hunted down ruthlessly - but you wouldn't have to purloin from me!
